Biography
Sarah Wendy Burman (she/they) is an actor, writer, and avid plant enthusiast. In addition to theatre, she finds joy in growing things, hearty soups, snail mail, the many strange and wondrous creatures of the sea, and Earl Grey tea. She is a current senior at Wellesley College, where she studies Theatre and English.

Sarah Wendy grew up in rural southeast Alaska, and her background is in outdoor touring performance. She is passionate about creating accessible theatre that can be performed in any space, with a focus on the actor-audience connection and an emphasis on intimate, truthful storytelling.

Recent roles have included Daniel in Sonia Flew (Wellesley College Upstage), Jan in Small Mouth Sounds (Wellesley College Theatre), Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing (Wellesley College Shakespeare Society), Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (WCSS), Papillon in Rhinoceros (WCT), Viola in Twelfth Night (Project Shakespeare) and Fool in King Lear (PS).

Sarah Wendy was awarded the Isabelle Eastman Fisk Performance Prize for Acting in 2021, and she is the current Claude Beauclair and Catherine Masson Fellow for 2021-2022. Her writing has been published in The Keene Sentinel, Becoming Doctors, and The Wellesley Review. Last year, her 10 minute play Custody was performed in the Wellesley College Theatre Showcase.

Sarah Wendy also works as an Associate Director for Project Shakespeare, a nonprofit theatre company in Jaffrey, NH. After graduating Wellesley, she plans to pursue an MFA in Acting in the UK.
